Kira Baum ND, LAc

My practice incorporates a wide range of therapies including acupuncture, herbal medicine, counseling, hypnotherapy, therapeutic supplements and nutrition.

Mind/Body medicine is a big part of my practice and what I consider to be a great strength of mine. I view illness as a key to transformation and help patients through a healing process of self discovery and growth.

As for my own path to naturopathic medicine, my undergraduate work was in North Carolina – Chapel Hill where I graduated with honors in Biology.  I had always known I would go into healthcare and, once time came to choose the flavor of my medicine, I gravitated towards a an approach that takes into account the psycho-emotional, biochemical and energetic planes.

I received my doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University.  I am also a licensed Acupuncturist, with training in the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) model.

To me, natural medicine is more than the use of ‘natural’ products.  It is about nourishing and stimulating the body, mind, and spirit in order to bring about healing.  It is about drawing on the knowledge of generations of healers.  This medicine of the people is strong and wise, and a new generation of medicine men and women are making it relevant to modern life.

I am from Ukraine originally and fluent in Russian.
